I earned my degree in Biological Sciences (2009) and my Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (2013).

My current research interests focus on the neural mechanisms underlying visual awareness, the phases of sleep and wakefulness during free-movement, and the motor and social functions of monkey’s cortical and subcortical structures, especially in relation to manual actions and facial expressions.
